Essentials and Things to Know

Below are all the essentials you will need when touching down in Dieline as well as things you should know. These include transportation cards, sim cards and other miscellaneous items. This is not by any means an exhaustive list. 

1. Visa or eVisit Pass

A visa is not required to visit Dieline for over 80 countries. Visit your local Dieline consulate/embassy website or location to find out if you are eligible for Visa free access. If you are not, you can visit your local consulate/embassy for a Visa application. Citizens of Visa-Free eligible countries will need to complete an eVisit Pass for background check prior visiting Dieline. This service is free and can be done online. Please apply for the correct visa to ensure for hassle free entry.

2. DS Card

The Dieline Smart Card or DS Card is a universal payment card used throughout Dieline. You can use it to catch public transportation (Train, Metro, Omnibus and Ferry), visit museums and tourist attractions, visit pools, book event tickets at the convention centre, purchase items in store and more. You can buy a DS Card at airport arrivals (Level 2), any 7/24 store and some tourist attractions.  

Another DS Card which is only available at NDIA Terminal 1 Arrivals is the Visit Dieline Unlimited Pass which offers unlimited travel on all public transportation (except Skie City Rail). This special card is only available for tourists. Prices are as per below:

  • 1 Day Pass - $10

  • 2 Day Pass - $18

  • 3 Day Pass - $24

  • 7 Day Pass - $40

3. Sim Card

Dieline has two major telecommunications providers, Dieline Telecom (DTel) and Dieline Telephone and Telecommunications (DT&T). Both have 5G availability nationwide. DTel is the larger of the two and is generally more expensive than DT&T which has a lower national coverage. However, you should be able to obtain good coverage for both in major settlements (towns and cities). The pricing for short term prepaid plans is per below:

DTel

  • 7 Day 5GB - $8.95

  • 14 Day 20GB - $19.95

  • 30 Day 60GB - $39.95

DT&T

  • 7 Day Unlimited - $9.95

  • 14 Day Unlimited - $19.95

  • 30 Day Unlimited - $34.95

4. Jobs

Would you like part-time or casual work while visiting Dieline? If you have the following Visas, you may be eligible to work, granted you pay tax and register for tax identifier number:

  • Student Visa (S01) - Up to 20 hours per week

  • Work and Play Tourist Visa (T02) - Up to 20 hours per week

  • Work Visa (W01) - Up to 40 hours per week

  • Global Talent Visa (W02) - Up to 40 hours per week
